“A summer without you” is the first album in Spanish that aspires to win the ‘Album of the Year’ award at the prestigious awards.

This November 15, the nominees for the 2023 Grammy Awards were revealed. A list in which we find that Beyoncé’s name is repeated up to nine times, with her being the most nominated for the 65th edition of the awards. But another artist who continues to enlarge her legacy after meeting the artists who compete to win a statuette on February 5 is Bad Bunny.

The Puerto Rican artist has made history by being nominated for ‘Album of the Year’ with his album Un Verano sin ti, thus becoming the first album in Spanish to qualify for this award, which is part of the main categories of the Grammys.

This is the first time it has happened in 65 years of history. A milestone for El Conejo Malo and Latin music that once again reflects his great influence on the Anglo-Saxon industry today.

It will be next February 5 when we find out if Bad Bunny finally prevails over Beyoncé, Adele, Abba, Mary J. Blige, Brandi Carlile, Coldplay, Kendrick Lamar, Lizzo and Harry Styles to take the coveted golden gramophone. Will A Summer Without You win?

In addition to being nominated in this main category, the Puerto Rican competes for the statuette for ‘Best Solo Pop Performance’ for “Moscow Mule” and ‘Best Urban Music Album’ also for Un Verano sin ti, an album that is also nominated to ‘Album of the Year’ at the Latin Grammy 2022, which takes place this Thursday in Las Vegas.

Beyoncé, the most nominated

As we said, Queen B is the most nominated in this edition thanks to Renaissance, her first solo album in five years. Her name is repeated up to nine times on the list, making her the most nominated female artist in Grammy history, tying her husband Jay-Z with 88 nominations each.
