Composed of ten episodes, the Benjamin Gates series from Disney + will focus on Jess Morales, a young Latin American adult.

In gestation for many months, the adaptation of the license Benjamin Gates, or National Treasure in the United States, as a television series is now a reality.

Developed for Disney+ by Jerry Bruckheimer, the producer of the films, with Cormac Wibberley and Marianne Wibberley (G-Force, The Shaddy Dog, I Spy) on the screenplay as well as Mira Nair (Monsoon Wedding, Vanity Fair, The Reluctant Fundamentalist) behind the camera, this one will explore the current issues of identity, community, historical fatherhood and patriotism.

Central character of this rereading of Benjamin Gates, Jess Morales will embark on the adventure of his life, with his group of friends, to discover the mysterious history of his family and find a lost treasure.

A new Benjamin Gates movie is still in the works

High-profile writers are expected to join the Wibberleys within the next few weeks. The development of the series is done in parallel with the sequel to Jon Turtletaub’s film franchise with Nicolas Cage who hired Chris Bremner as screenwriter in January 2020.
