Actor Jason David Frank, one of the original Power Rangers, has died at the age of 49 in Texas, as reported exclusively by TMZ.
News that his representative, Justine Hunt, has also confirmed.
Said medium assured that sources close to the interpreter reported that his death had been the result of suicide.
Jason was internationally known as Tommy Oliver, the iconic character from the legendary series and movies that he embodied for decades.
Although he started out as the green Power Ranger in the first season, he also sported the red, black, and white suits.
Walter Emanuel Jones, one of his friends and also a partner in the superhero saga, dedicated some emotional words to him upon hearing the news.
“I can not believe it. My heart is sad to have lost another member of our special family,” Jones wrote, giving him his last goodbye.
His representative has asked for respect at this time in a statement to TMZ. “Please respect the privacy of his family and friends during this difficult time as we come to terms with the departure of such a fantastic human being. He loved his family, friends and fans very much. We will miss him,” Hunt said.
Jason, also a martial arts dojo owner, is survived by 4 children.
