Details about the favorites, the ‘shows’, schedules and secrets of the 63rd awards ceremony.
For more than a year, the press releases on the awards ceremonies and the great cultural ones have started announcing their atypical nature due to the pandemic .
And this will not be the exception: the 63rd Grammy Awards ceremony , to be held tonight in Los Angeles (USA), is unprecedented.
For the first time in the history of the most important awards in the music industry, live performances will not be done in person, at the great Staples Center on March 14.
And, as is the case on other occasions, the list of guests to sing live largely corresponds to the ranks of award nominees in various categories.
In fact, it is still not very clear what the dynamics of the musical ‘shows’ will be taking into account that not all the artists will be on stage, but whatever it is, both the concerts and the awards can be seen on the TNT channel from 7 pm

And although there is no clarity regarding how the ceremony will be, at least it is known that the ‘performers’ lineup is spectacular: Bad Bunny, Taylor Swift, Cardi B, Dua Lipa , Harry Styles and Billie Eilish , Chris Martin (the vocalist Coldplay), John Mayer, Post Malone and Black Pumas are some of the more prominent names.
Another feature that this edition will have is that the Recording Academy will pay tribute to music venues and small concert venues for their persistence in a particularly difficult year for this guild.
Therefore, waiters, promoters and other employees will be in charge of giving the prizes. The idea of the organizers is a small television event without an audience, with the South African Trevor Noah as host of the gala.
Another of the tributes will be for Selena Quintanilla (1971-1995), the singer known as the “queen of tex-mex”, for whom there will be a posthumous recognition with a month to go to celebrate the 50th anniversary of her birth.
The legacy of Selena (who in 1994 received a Grammy in the category of best regional Mexican album) tonight will be celebrated with the Lifetime Achievement Award.

If it’s by nominations, Beyoncé, aka ‘Queen B’, has already won the crown, honoring her ostentatious nickname that she has known how to defend for years.
And the 39-year-old American singer is shortlisted in nine categories, including one of the most desired, recording of the year, for her work ‘Black Parade’.
But it’s not that he has it easy either: “Artist of the Decade” Taylor Swift and Albanian star Dua Lipa have six nominations each. And both go for the juiciest awards: Swift, for the album of the year; and Lipa, for that and for the recording of the year.

One of the big surprises is the nomination of the Black Pumas , whose members a few years ago were street musicians and tonight they are nominated in four categories, including the two already mentioned.
The names of the young star Billie Elish are also highlighted, the rapper Post Malone and the famous British Coldplay , among others.
With fewer nominations, but not without prominence, Canadian Justin Bieber also appears frequently on the list of options .
In the category of best solo performance, Bieber competes against a figure who has in common with him early fame and musical maturity. This is the British Harry Styles (former member of the ‘boy band’ One Direction), who is, according to many, in the best moment of his career and who could win the Grammy in that or two other categories.
Latin force
In another segment, the selection in the categories for music in Spanish is also varied and has powerful figures: big stars, sacred cows and unexpected revelations.
Two of the most important awards in this section are the one for best Latin pop or urban album and the one for best Latin rock or alternative album.
Those who are targeting the category of pop or urban album are B ad Bunny, Camilo, Kanny García, Ricky Martin and Debi Nova. Bajofondo, Cami, Cultura Profética, Fito Páez and Lido Pimienta
compete for the award for the best rock or alternative album .
In other categories stand outAlejandro Fernández, Natalia Lafourcade, Christian Nodal, Jorge Celedón and Sergio Luis , among others.
The angry ones
From a corner, watching the excitement of those hoping to win an award tonight, a couple of celebrities who are not on the list are and they voiced their disagreement with anger.
One of them is the British Zayn Malik, former partner of Harry Styles, who has not received a nomination since 2015. On the other hand, he misses the absence of The Weeknd , who has not stopped shining on other platforms, but whom the academy did not put on tonight’s option list.
Colombia stomps
On the list of nominations tonight, several Colombians appear
in different categories. Camilo and Lido Pimienta top the list: they go
for the best Latin pop album and the best rock album, respectively. You cannot fail to mention J Balvin , who goes for the best pop duo. Also noteworthy are Grupo Niche and Jorge Celedón & Sergio Luis , competing for the best tropical Latin album award.
