Eibar renew Kike García for two seasons

Eibar and their forward Kike García have reached an agreement to renew the player’s contract for two more seasons (until 2023), with the option of one more campaign, reported this Wednesday the gunsmith club.

The Cuenca striker, who arrived at the Barça club in January 2016 from English Middlesbrough, ended his contract with Eibar in June 2021 and, given the excellent season he is doing, SD Eibar has chosen to renew his contract and ensure his presence at the club where he has become the benchmark forward.

The 32-year-old player from Cuenca has played with Eibar a total of 133 league games (28 goals) and 6 in the Cup (two goals).

This season he is the team’s top scorer with five goals scored in the first round, four of them with his foot and another with his head. LKike García’s explosion this season has come thanks to the two goals he managed to score against the two great LaLiga players, the first against Real Madrid, to which he scored a goal that in the end did not serve to take the points, since the Madrid team won in Ipurua by 1 goal to 3.

However, a few days later the goal he scored at the Camp Nou against Barcelona did help him the gunsmith club could score for the first time in the Barça field in the seven seasons it has been playing in the First Division.
