Twitter mentions of the dogecoin cryptocurrency skyrocketed to record levels after the meme currency entered the top 10 for the first time since 2015.
According to digital asset data company TheTIE, the sheer volume of mentions over a 24-hour period has marked altcoin as the most tweeted cryptocurrency of all time.
Dogecoin broke past records for bitcoin tweets on January 2, 2021 and December 22, 2017, the company said.
The currency has seen a flurry of commercial activity, possibly due to the attention of members of Reddit’s commercial groups such as WallStreetBets and SatoshiStreetBets. In addition, a tweet from Elon Musk helped boost the crypto movement.
The DOGE price rose to a new high of $ 0.078 on Thursday, according to data from Coingolive , before dropping to $ 0.049 so far. Prices have still risen 160% in the past 24 hours.
