Due to the poor condition of Cyberpunk 2077 at launch, the CD Projekt Red team took full responsibility and offered all dissatisfied fans a refund for their version. It didn’t matter whether you bought the title physically or digitally. Even if you were unable to return the game to your retailer, the team promised a full refund.

Now many owners are wondering what will happen to their copy. According to a report by Vice, numerous players reported who had already received their refund – but were still allowed to keep their version of Cyberpunk 2077. Among them is a buyer of the Collector’s Edition, who has already received a refund of USD 270 from CD Projekt Red via PayPal. The collective edition is still in his possession. During the refund process, it was pointed out that the game must be returned at a time that has not yet been specified. So far nobody has been asked to do this.

CD Projekt Red did not reveal how many players requested a refund. In December alone, Cyberpunk 2077 sold over 13 million times. Officially, however, it is no longer possible to get the money back for your game. The campaign ended on December 21, 2020. Not all owners have received a transfer yet. According to CD Projekt Red, this process will continue in February and March 2021.
