The singer has made some changes to her social media profile, hinting that she will be releasing new music soon. Read what we already know about Dua’s new CD!
Dua Lipa should be back in the music charts soon.
The singer recently deleted all her Instagram posts, posting only an image with a calendoscope effect on her profile picture. In addition, the thumbnails of her YouTube clips also have the same effect.
Fans went wild when they noticed the change, as it indicates that she may be entering a new era soon – including new singles, an album, a tour and much more.
With this in mind, we’ve decided to round up everything that’s been said about the singer’s new CD so far to get you warmed up!
The main details about Dua’s new project were revealed in August, during an interview with The New York Times.
According to the article, the long-awaited album will arrive in 2024 and will continue to have a pop sound, although it will swap the “80s house and disco beats” of Future Nostalgia for a “70s psychedelia” aesthetic.
“The next album will still be pop, she says, so that her ‘fans don’t have a breakdown’,” the outlet said. “She doesn’t want to ‘alienate’ them, although she is developing a new sound less influenced by the house and disco beats of songs like ‘Physical’ and ‘Hallucinate’, and closer to the psychedelia of the 1970s.”
And speaking of “psychedelia”, there were rumors that Dua had hired Kevin Parker, from the band Tame Impala, to produce the new project. However, the singer declined to comment on the matter. “I don’t know what you’re talking about,” she joked.
Nevertheless, producer Mark Ronson, who worked with Lipa on the song “Dance The Night”, from the soundtrack of the movie Barbie, has heard part of the new project and guarantees that it is “incredible”.
And what will the songs be about? “I’ve definitely matured. In general, whether sonically or in terms of themes, I’ve matured,” said the star in an interview with Vogue in May. “It’s like I’m taking my power and I’m not afraid to talk about things. It’s about understanding what I want.
