She first appeared as an actor after declaring herself transgender in December 2020

Elliot Page, the actor from “The Umbrella Academy” is back in the news. The interpreter appeared at the MET 2021 gala for the first time after declaring herself a transgender person in December 2020.

The actor wore a black suit and a green flower on the lapel. Soon social networks were making their own pools speculating if it was a simple accessory or if it was an allusion to the writer Oscar Wilde.

In 1892, the green carnation became a symbol for queer men when Wilde asked his friends to wear it on the opening night of his shows. It was, therefore, then a way to identify queer men.

Ellen Page, who rose to fame as the star of “Juno” (2007) announced last December on social media that she is transgender: “Hello, friends. I want to share with you that I am trans and that my name is Elliot”, sSaid the interpreter through her Facebook, Instagram and Twitter accounts.

“I feel lucky to write this. To be here. To have come to this place in my life”, she added.
