Linda Evangelista was “permanently deformed” by an adverse reaction from a fat reduction procedure.

This was revealed this Thursday by who was one of the great supermodels of the 90s and who is 56 years old today, before his 900,000 followers on Instagram.

A cosmetic treatment she underwent five years ago increased rather than reduced her fat cells, a rare side effect, she explained.

“They have left me, as the media has described me, ‘unrecognizable.’

Evangelista explained that that was the reason why it had disappeared from the public eye .

In the same publication, the Canadian model specified that she had undergone “two painful corrective surgeries that did not work” after the weight loss procedure in question, also known as body contouring surgery or contouring , had the opposite effect.

“To my fans who have wondered why I have not been working as the race of my colleagues has thrived: the reason is that brutally was desfigurad to by (a procedure) that ended up doing the opposite of what she promised , ” said Evangelista.

“A recluse”

“(The procedure) not only destroyed my livelihood, it has plunged me into a cycle of great depression, deep sadness and deep self-loathing, ” he added.

“In the process, I have become a recluse.”

In her publication on Instagram, the star explained that she wanted to tell her story to the public in order to move on with her life and let it be understood that she would sue the company that, according to her, is responsible.

The company Linda Evangelista claims to have come to for the cosmetic procedure has not yet responded to the GLM’s request for comment.

” already look like me”

“I’m so tired of living this way,” Evangelista continued.

“I’d like to walk out the door with my head held high , even though I no longer look like myself.”

This non-surgical procedure, which has gained popularity in recent years, uses low temperatures to reduce fat deposits in certain areas of the body.

Describing the “very rare but serious side effect” she had experienced, Evangelista explained that “it means that the fat cells in the treated site grow larger rather than smaller .”

“It is not fully understood why this is happening,” she added.

Linda Evangelista rose to fame in the 1990s as part of a group of emerging supermodels.

She walked through the most prestigious catwalks around the world and was the cover of various editions of the famous Vogue magazine several times .

” Super role model of courage

She also appeared in a music video for the late musician George Michael alongside his colleagues Naomi Campbell, Cindy Crawford and Christy Turlington.

Stars like Gwyneth Paltrow and stylist Karla Welch expressed their support with comments on Evangelista’s post, as did designers Jeremy Scott and Brandon Maxwell.

“You are and always will be a supermodel , now you add (the) super role model of courage to your glorious resume,” wrote Scott, while Paltrow posted a red heart-shaped emoji.

“I have always recognized you as someone who was physically beautiful, yes, but the most important thing is that you really did shine from within … In your darkest moments, never forget the light with which you have illuminated so many of us and still continue to do so” wrote Brandon Maxwell.

For her part, her model colleague Karen Elson showed her all her affection: “Sweet Linda. I love you very much, you are very brave and wonderful.”
