Shakira confessed that she has several properties in America
Shakira’s statements in Spanish court were recently made public. During her speech she talked about several houses she has owned throughout her life.
Singer Shakira continues to be in the news. Last Friday came to light the statement that the Colombian made before the Spanish court, as she is facing a trial for alleged tax evasion.
These statements not only served to learn more details about the unhealthy relationship that Shakira had with footballer Gerard Piqué, also served to know a little more about the interest that the world star has for houses.
Shakira not only owns the former mansion she shared with Pique in Barcelona, Spain, and the mansion in Miami, Florida, where she currently lives. The singer has owned other mansions in recent years and several of them she currently maintains.
“I buy houses in places and that for me is not a commitment. I have houses in Uruguay, New York, Miami, Barranquilla, Nassau, Barcelona. I like them because it is the most comfortable way to be, when I go to stay I prefer to be in a house. Even during tours I rent houses”, he stated.
According to several media, the exact location of the property he has in Uruguay is unknown, but they assure that it is a ranch type house. They have also assured that this residence served Shakira as a refuge during her relationship with Antonio de la Rua.
On the other hand, it is popular knowledge that she bought in 2011 a private island in the Bahamas but she has already sold it and like that purchase there are many others she has made.
All this statement was made by Shakira with the intention of clarifying that she did not live in Spain before starting her relationship with Piqué and she is justly accused of not having paid taxes during those years that she was not a resident of the country.
She even made a strong clarification where she confesses that her move to Spain meant a sacrifice for her musical career. “I didn’t feel like coming to Spain. It is a beautiful country, but it is not the epicenter of the music industry. For me, being in Spain is a huge sacrifice for my professional success, because I don’t have the best in artistic production, which is in the United States. It’s like asking Gerard to go to Barranquilla to play for Junior”.
