Potter’, calls fatherhood ‘scary’ six months after the birth of his first child

The 34-year-old star’s son is the fruit of Radcliffe’s relationship with actress Erin Drake

Actor Daniel Radcliffe has described fatherhood as “scary”. The former Harry Potter actor spoke about his life as a father in an interview with E! News. The 34-year-old star and his partner, actress Erin Drake (39), had their first baby last April.

Radcliffe and Drake have been together since 2012. They met while filming the drama ‘Verses of a Crime’ (2013). The two are discreet about their personal lives and have not revealed the baby’s name or exposed the child’s face on social media.

Asked about his experience as a first-time dad, Radcliffe was humorous.

“There’s a short answer and a long answer to that,” he joked. “The short answer: it’s wonderful and he’s the best thing that ever happened.”

Then he added: “The long answer? It’s definitely scary to have a human being in the world that I care so much about. Everything he does will affect how I feel about my life until the end of my days. So that’s it, intimidating.

After starring in all eight films in the ‘Harry Potter’ franchise, Radcliffe has been celebrated for his unusual project choices. He has worked on films such as ‘Weird: The Al Yankovic Story’ (2022), ‘Guns at Play’ (2019), ‘Into the Wild’ (2017) and ‘A Corpse to Survive’ (2016).
