The reggaeton singer Nicky Jam surprised everyone by announcing that he received the keys to the city of Miami, United States, from the hands of Mayor Francis Suárez, during an official ceremony held last Saturday.

Through his official Instagram account, the interpreter of “X” and “Travesuras” shared some photographs of the event, where he appears next to the mayor of Miami. In addition, he boasts the key to the city.

“I want to thank Miami Mayor Francis Suárez, Commissioner Jeffrey Watson and the City for giving me the Key to Miami. This is an honor for me. Thanks to all the Latinos who were there. Thanks for your support”, wrote next to the snapshots.

It should be noted that during the event, the reggaeton player gave a brief speech upon receiving the recognition and commented to those present that he comes from the most humble neighborhoods of Puerto Rico, for which he considers the act an honor.

“You know that we come from below, from Puerto Rico, from below. For us, arriving in a city like Miami and receiving the Key is a blessing. Long live the Latinos! Long live Puerto Rico! Long live Miami! And Long live Reggaeton!” the singer pointed out.

As you remember, in August Nicky Jam released “Infinity”, his eighth album. The album is full of songs with the credit of many friends from its music scene.
