The first time Laura Pausini heard “Io sì”
Through a statement, Pausini recalled the first time he heard the song and said he felt an immediate connection with its melody.
“I remember the first time I heard the song when Diane sent it to me. I felt an immediate connection with the notes, I felt a strong bond and I knew that something extraordinary was happening, “said Pausini through a press release shared by his record label, Warner Music.
“From minute one I believed in the film, in the song and in the message that both carry and I personally wanted to write the lyrics in Italian to honor the spirit of the song,” said the singer.
On his first Golden Globe nomination, Pausini said it was an indescribable feeling.
“To get a Golden Globe nomination for the first time in my career and in such an important category is an indescribable feeling for me, and once again, it is an honor to be able to represent Italy around the world,” he commented.
“The Life Ahead” also has another Golden Globes nomination
The film “The Life Ahead”, directed by Edoardo Ponti, was also nominated in the category of “best foreign film”.
The film premiered on November 13, 2020 on Netflix and tells the story of a female Holocaust survivor and the unlikely friendship she forms with a 12-year-old boy.
The tape will represent Italy in the delivery.
In November, Pausini said in a statement that he was excited to see Loren in an Italian story.
“I appreciate your generosity (that of Sophia Loren) in interpreting a very intense Italian story, with an important social cause that, unfortunately, continues to exist. Edoardo Ponti sent me the film in advance this summer and told me that he wanted my voice to carry the message of the film around the world and of course I was very flattered, ”said the singer-songwriter in 2020.
The Golden Globes will air on February 28 and will be hosted by comedians Tina Fey and Amy Poehler.
