Kim Kardashian filed for divorce from Kanye West after six and a half years of marriage. A representative of the socialite confirmed the news to the portal TMZ.
The celebrity filed documents last Friday to restore her marital status to single, leaving the property and custody settlement issues for another day in the future.
“Irreconcilable differences have existed and continue to exist between [Kanye] and I, what has caused our marriage to break irretrievably”, was noted in the document.
According to TMZ, the separation between West and Kardashian will be amicable. Both celebrities are willing to agree to joint custody of their 4 children.
In addition, parents plan to stick to the arrangements established in a prenuptial agreement.
Kim Kardashian and Kanye West began dating in 2012 and quickly became one of the biggest couples on the international show. In 2013, their first daughter, North, was born. Later that year, they got engaged and married on May 24, 2014.
Kardashian and West had three more children together, Saint (born in 2015), Chicago (born in 2018 to a surrogate mother) and Psalm (born in 2019 to a surrogate mother).
