In the new issue of ‘Billboard’ magazine, Karol G reveals that she is ready to take her career to the top and be crowned “the next Latin queen”.

Karol G surprised his 42 million followers by sharing some sensual photographs that are part of the new edition of the magazine ‘Billboard’, where the Colombian is the protagonist and is cataloged as “the next Latin queen”.

It is one of the two covers of the Latin numbers of the September edition of ‘Billboard’, the first was dedicated to Daddy Yankee , who spoke about his beginnings and his hard way to become the ‘King of reggaeton’ .

Karol revealed that in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic “I felt all this pressure because I thought: ‘I will never be able to overcome’ Tusa ‘. I feel blocked.”

“All my concerts were canceled. I thought it was all over. I got depressed and it’s a feeling that I never wish on anyone,” he said about the pause he made in his career due to the global health emergency. 

Today, Karol G overcame her doubts about herself and is ready to take her career even higher and show that she is much more than the current protagonist of reggaeton. 

In March, she released her third album titled ‘KG0516’, dethroning Bad Bunny’s  ‘El Último Tour del Mundo’  and earning the biggest debut week of a Latin female performance since Shakira’s ‘El Dorado’  in 2017.

“The opportunities have not always been there. But from the beginning, I envisioned myself as a great artist,” says the 30-year-old.

The road has not been easy, however, after ‘Tusa’, a song with which she continues to break records , ‘Bichota’ arrived, a track with a lot of attitude whose title refers to a strong female leader.

“I need to write a song that says: ‘I am the toughest, the baddest of all, and that there is no one else,” he told singer-songwriters Lenny Tavárez and Justin Quiles .

In addition to conquering the urban music industry, Karol G has other ambitions in the world of entertainment. She sees herself as a multifaceted woman, just like her great idols, Rihanna and Selena Quintanilla .

“I’m very focused on becoming an entrepreneur, launching a makeup brand, clothing lines, and making my debut on the big screen,” says Karol. “I want to see how far I can go as an artist and as a businesswoman. I want to be at a point in my life where I can say, ‘I’ve done it all, there’s nothing else I can do.’

Karol G swept as a finalist in the 2021 edition of the Billboard Latin Music Awards , appearing in 5 categories: Hot Latin Song, Song of the Year; Hot Latin Song, Vocal Collaboration of the Year; Song of the Year, Latin Airplay; Song of the Year, Sales and Latin Rhythm Song of the Year.
