After getting married in Las Vegas on July 16, and after a magnificent honeymoon in Paris, Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez officially celebrated their marriage in a dazzling private ceremony accompanied by family and friends. Having been together in the early 2000s, the couple have finally made it down the aisle without a hitch, and the first official photos of their wedding show just how happy they are.
Without a doubt, Lopez and Affleck’s wedding will go down as one of the most spectacular Hollywood weddings of all time, with a beautiful love story that shows just how important second chances can be. The fabulous occasion took place at Ben Affleck’s sprawling estate in Riceboro, Georgia on August 20.
The bride looked scintillating in a stunning white gown and long veil, while Ben oozed elegance in a white tuxedo. The wedding was attended by big names in the industry, including Matt Damon and Kevin Smith, as well as many family members, including Ben’s mother and children, and Jennifer’s sons and sisters.
In 2003, Ben and Jennifer had to postpone their first wedding due to intense media attention. The couple shared a statement at the time that read as follows (via People):
Due to the excessive media attention surrounding our wedding, we have decided to postpone the date. When we found ourselves seriously considering hiring three separate ‘decoy brides’ at three different locations, we realized something was wrong. We feel that what should have been a joyous and holy day could be spoiled for us, our families and our friends.
The couple faced another wave of attention of this caliber during their honeymoon in Paris a few weeks ago, and no doubt being stalked by the media was something that pissed Affleck off. Numerous photos of the stars made the rounds on the Internet during their stay in Paris, where they were caught doing a lot of activities. It is understandable that Affleck has ended up completely tired of the paparazzi, because they did not let the couple enjoy their trip quietly and alone.
