Hugh Jackman celebrated his first single birthday after 27 years of marriage. The actor, who turned 55 on the 12th, announced his divorce from Deborra-Lee Furness last month and shocked fans of the couple, who were one of the most established in Hollywood.
The ‘X-Men’ star posted a photo on Instagram to thank his fans for their tributes. “Thank you ALL for the love on my birthday!!! I’m reading the messages, watching the special videos and experiencing all the sensations”, he assured.
In the video, Hugh appears alone with a slight smile as he holds a drink in a New York restaurant. In the stories, he also showed the treat he received from the place: an ice cream, two cookies and a congratulatory message written with chocolate icing on the saucer.
Despite appearing alone in the photo, sources told Page Six that Hugh was there with his ex-wife, some friends and their children. “Very happy moment for everyone,” said one contact, “I think it was a good birthday.” “Yes, it was. It was a lovely evening,” a representative confirmed to the site about Deborra-Lee’s presence on the special night.

A source told the Daily Mail on Thursday (12) that the actor is still upset about the end of his marriage and that he hopes for his ex-wife’s sake. “Hugh and Deborra have enormous respect for each other and want to see each other do well in life, be it in their careers, their love lives or anything else that interests them,” the source revealed.
The person continued: “Hugh isn’t against going on dates or going out with someone his friends might think is good for him, but he’s still processing life without the woman he’s been with for decades.”
“He’s in that period of calm where he’s still mourning the break-up, looking to immerse himself in work to get away from it.”
