The stars of Game of Thrones, Rose Leslie and Kit Harington, have welcomed their first child.
Page Six reported the news of the birth on Tuesday and posted a photo of the couple with the baby in London. Harington’s representative revealed that the couple were “very, very happy.”
The actors, both 34, met in 2011 while working together on the incredibly successful HBO series. Game of Thrones. Leslie played the wild Ygritte and Harington was the show’s lead Jon Snow, with his characters romantically involved before the first’s release in season four.
As romance blossomed in real life, the characters also had a relationship on screen, and Ygritte became famous for the phrase, “You don’t know anything, Jon Snow.”
The couple announced their engagement in 2017 and married in June 2018 in the Leslie family’s ancestral castle in their native Scotland.
The wedding ceremony was attended by co-stars such as Peter Dinklage, Maisie Williams, Sophie Turner and Emilia Clarke.
Leslie’s pregnancy was revealed in a photo taken for a magazine interview and the couple confirmed the news in September 2020.
Speaking about their relationship in an interview before their nuptials, Harington said, “If you’re already attracted to someone and then they perform a love theme on the show, it’s very easy to fall in love.”
After Game Of Thrones, Leslie appeared in the television series The Good Fight and filmed the remake of Hercule Poirot Death on the Nile, which will premiere later in 2021.
Harington has starred in movies like The Death And Life Of John F Donovan Y How To Train Your Dragon, and also has a role in Eternals, a film that will also be released this year.
