Eduardo Moreno Laparade, the nephew of Mario Moreno Cantinflas, passed away by coronavirus (COVID-19). The sad news was confirmed by actor Jorge Ortiz de Pinero through a heartfelt message posted on his Twitter profile.

“It is with deep regret that I receive the news of the death of Don Eduardo Moreno Laparade, a supportive, kind, loving and irreplaceable friend. There are no words to describe the immense void left by his departure “Ortiz de Pinedo expressed on his social network.

Cantinflas’s grandson, Mario Moreno Ivanova, also made the news official on Twitter.

“With great pain we said goodbye to my Uncle Eduardo Moreno Laparade, rest in peace, I will always remember you with much affection”, wrote next to a photograph of Eduardo Moreno Laparade.

Eduardo Moreno Laparade was hospitalized on January 19 for complications due to COVID-19. He underwent a tracheostomy to reduce his dependence on a ventilator.

Previously, he had to be intubated to help his lungs in oxygenation, then the doctors told the family that they were trying an extubation, but there were no improvements, according to El Universal.
