New York – Sean “Diddy” Combs, the big name in music, will stay in jail a bit longer than planned. His release date moved from May 8, 2028, to June 4, 2028. This comes after reports of him breaking some prison rules at his new spot in New Jersey.

The 56-year-old got sent to Federal Correctional Institution Fort Dix just a few weeks ago. He was moved there from a lockup in Brooklyn. But right away, stories popped up about trouble. TMZ said Diddy was caught making and drinking homemade booze. They claimed it was a mix of Fanta soda, sugar, and apples left to sit and ferment. Guards thought about moving him to another part of the prison but decided to keep him where he is.

Then, CBS News shared another issue. They said Diddy made a three-way phone call, which breaks the rules. Only two people can be on a call at once. His team says it was okay because it was with his lawyer and another legal helper. They call it protected talk between client and lawyer.

Diddy’s people are pushing back hard on all this. A spokesperson told People magazine that the stories are “false and reckless.” They added, “He has not broken any prison rules. His sobriety and self-control are top priorities, and he takes them very seriously.” The rep also asked for some space: “This is just his first week at Fort Dix. Rumors will come up during his stay. Please give him the benefit of the doubt, some privacy to grow, and grace to move on in peace.”

The Federal Bureau of Prisons hasn’t said much about why the date changed. But the timing lines up with these reports. Diddy has been locked up since September 2024, when cops grabbed him on serious charges.

Back in October, a judge in Manhattan gave him 50 months in prison. That’s about four years and two months. He was found guilty on two counts of moving people across state lines for paid sex work, which breaks the Mann Act. He also got hit with a $500,000 fine and five years of watch after he gets out.

The trial was tough. Prosecutors talked about wild “Freak Offs” parties where Diddy was said to control women with drugs and escorts. Key proof came from his ex, singer Cassie Ventura. She told the court about abuse and pressure. Other women shared similar stories too.

Diddy said sorry in a letter to the judge. He admitted to losing control with too much partying and drugs. He said jail made him sober for the first time in 25 years and left him feeling broken. But Cassie called him cruel and sneaky in her own letter. She and other victims wanted a harsh punishment because he’s dangerous.

His lawyers asked for just 14 months, counting time already served. Prosecutors wanted 11 years. The judge picked the middle road at 50 months. They even showed a video of Diddy’s good side – family moments and charity work. But the judge said, “Good deeds can’t wipe out the bad in this case.”

Diddy was cleared of worse charges like sex trafficking and racketeering. Still, he faces over 70 lawsuits from people saying he hurt them. His team plans to fight the guilty call in appeals.

For now, Diddy is in a drug treatment program and works in the prison chapel library. His rep says he’s adjusting and trying to get better each day. Fans and watchers wait to see if more news comes out about his time inside. This extra month might seem small, but it shows how strict the rules are – even for stars.
