Camilo questions those who live by appearances in his new song ‘Ropa Cara’

After announcing a new song, Camilo premiered his song ‘Ropa cara’, his first premiere of the year after the collaboration he made with the family of his wife, Evaluna Montaner, on the song ‘Amen’, in December 2-0-2-0.

Ropa Cara premiered on May 18 and already has almost four million views on YouTube.

The expectation about Camilo’s new song began to grow on his social networks when, just a few days into the year, he assured that in January he would bring new music. Finally, days later, he announced the premiere of ‘Ropa cara’, a reggaeton, with a surprising salsa twist at the end, in which he tells what he himself says, “It is a story based on real events, which are not told because they are so personal.”

The theme relates what can be presumed is a failed love story in which, according to Camilo sings, ‘a girl with good manners’ demands that you change the way you dress in order to go out with her, “One day he told me: ‘look, you don’t come out like that, with that little clothes like from’ Garage Sale ‘. And now he wants me to wear expensive clothes, Balenciaga, Gucci, Prada ”.

The premiere of Camilo, which with just a few hours of being published already exceeds three million views on YouTube, has a video clip directed by Evaluna Montaner and Santiago Achaga, and starring actress Macarena Achaga, Santiago’s sister.

‘Ropa Cara’ is a preview of what is believed to be the launch of a new album by the Colombian musician for this 2021, after the release of his successful album ‘For the first time’, which included songs such as ‘the same air’, ‘Favorite’, ‘Don’t go’ and ‘Tutu’, mostly songs dedicated to his wife and his new married life.

‘Expensive clothes’, joins the theme of ‘Rico’s Life’, a cumbia in which Camilo highlights that there are things more relevant than money and material things, that other types of goods weigh more to live calmly and happily.

Precisely, the title of Camilo’s new premiere generated criticism from several users of social networks who asked the artist not to ‘repeat the role of poor man’.

The memes were swift and, amid the humor, they criticized Camilo for talking about issues that do not coincide with his current economic state.

According to the comments on social networks, Camilo, who currently has several comforts thanks to his work in the industry for more than ten years, is not the best person to say things like: ‘I don’t have to give you a penny, but I can give you my kisses, I have a little to get you out of it, but it’s free to dance (…) although there is little that I offer you, with pride: everything that I have is yours ”, lyrics of his song ‘Vida de Rico’.

Social networks were flooded with memes for what was supposed to be the content of the new song of the paisa.

However, the comments seem to go unnoticed by the mind of the singer originally from Medellín, who assured that in addition to thinking about publishing his next album in the course of 2021, you are already thinking and writing for the third.

In an interview for Europa FM, Camilo Echeverry assured that he did not stop thinking, and that his creativity was always on the surface because, Besides writing his own music, he composes for other singers such as Juanes, Sebastián Yatra, Maluma, Becky G, among many others.

At present, Camilo has a Latin Grammy for his album ‘Por primera vez’, and is nominated for an Anglo Grammy for that same album in the category of Best Latin Pop or Urban Album.
