Britney Spears has received top-class support for her return to the music business: “Hold Me Closer” is to be released shortly – a joint song with none other than Sir Elton John.
In the 90s, many pop fans probably would not have dared to dream of such a collaboration: Britney Spears and Elton John released a song together. After the singer had hardly heard anything musically for years, Spears is now supposed to make her comeback with the duet “Hold Me Closer”.
According to the music label Interscope Records, the single, whose title is probably borrowed from a line of text from Elton John’s “Tiny Dancer”, should be heard soon. An exact release date is not yet known, but the song can already be saved in advance on various music streaming services.
Joint song with the Backstreet Boys
Spears’ last album, “Glory”, was released in 2016. Two years ago she released a joint single with the Backstreet Boys (“Matches”), but otherwise largely withdrew from the music business. To this day, the 40-year-old is one of the most commercially successful singers in pop history, but recent years have been overshadowed by serious personal crises.
The reason for this was not least the fact that Spears had to fight in court to end her father’s guardianship. She finally regained her majority in November 2021. Since then, the musician has regularly shared her everyday life with her fans on her Instagram profile.
