Cuban singer Camila Cabello will make her film debut for the streaming platform after Amazon Studios is closing a deal to acquire the worldwide rights to the Sony Pictures musical Cinderella.

According to the Deadline portal, the new “Cinderella” by Camila Cabello will be released in the coming months on Amazon Prime.

The new version of the glass slipper princess directed by Kay Cannon was planned to premiere next July, but conditions due to the Covid-19 pandemic delayed its departure. This prompted Sony to consider a deal with Amazon Studios, similar to previous releases like Fatherhood and Vivo.

According to the aforementioned media, there is still no specific premiere date for the musical, but it is planned to be later this year.

The film is a new musical version of the traditional story. Cinderella is an ambitious young woman whose dreams are bigger than the world allows. With the help of her Fab G (Billy Porter), she musters the courage to make her dreams come true.

Camila Cabello will be joined by stars like Idina Menzel, Billy Porter, Nick Galitzine, Minnie Driver and Pierce Brosnan.

The new version of Cinderella will feature pop songs by contemporary artists and original songs by the singer of ‘Señorita’.

On the other hand, the direction and the script will be in charge of Kay Cannon, better known for getting involved in musical projects such as the trilogy of “Perfect Notes” in which she worked as a writer and producer, making it a good option to direct the film, since she has experience with the genre of musicals.

While the followers of the famous Cuban wait for the premiere of her new film, they do not lose track of Cabello’s every step.

In recent days Camila was caught on the streets of Miami while taking classes to learn to drive and finally get her driver’s license.

The 24-year-old took her practical classes in a red Honda car. So far the singer has not shared details of whether she managed to pass the driving test or if she will try again later.

Camila was among the guests who attended the recent Gente de Zona concert in Miami. Together with her boyfriend, the Canadian singer Shawn Mendes, the Señorita interpreter enjoyed the music and the catchy rhythm of the Cuban reggaeton duo.

Camila and Shawn shared behind the scenes with Alexander Delgado, Randy Malcolm and their respective partners: Mily Alemán and Annaby Pozo. The meeting was immortalized on the Instagram of the Gente de Zona members.
