Tesla prices vary from country to country. In some countries, for example, the popular Y model costs a lot, while in others it is sold very cheaply.
THE CHEAPER Tesla Model Y can be bought in China, where it costs an average of 40,411 dollars (38,420 euros). In China, the price of the model has been drastically reduced in recent months. At the same time, Tesla’s production has recently increased significantly at the Gigafactory Shanghai.
After China, the cheapest Model Y can be bought in Slovakia and in the tax-free Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia, where the price is 44,323 dollars (42,097 euros).
For comparison, the price of the cheapest rear-wheel drive in Finland is 59,990 euros. Importing a little driven “Baltia-Tesla” across the Gulf of Finland can start to be attractive, because the price difference of about 15,000 is noticeable. Finland was not included in the published comparison.
Next on the list published by Indeevs are Japan ($46,300), New Zealand ($48,393) and Macau ($49,509). France ($49,617) and, based on a multi-state average, Australia ($51,093).
In the United States, the price of the model falls roughly halfway in comparison. However, in the United States, incentives offered by different states cause clear price differences within the country.
- Cars are generally more expensive in highly taxed countries like Singapore and Israel, where customs and registration fees are also high compared to China and Europe, Seth Goldstein, an equity analyst at Morningstar Research Services, commented on the prices.
The MOST coveted Model Y has to be paid for in Singapore, Israel and Mexico. The report says the price of the Model Y in Singapore is $103,800, but the data collection also found a price tag of over $180,000.
Despite the Model Y’s high price in the country, Singaporean finance professional Alexander Ang said Tesla’s SUV offers “the best value for my money” compared to other EV options available. Ang also said that “the choice is limited.”
– Of course it’s expensive, but so are other cars in Singapore, Ang said.
