International success around the world, the manga Demon Slayer will one day arrive on our consoles. What do we know about the title and what can we expect from it?

The editors tell you the five things you should know about Kimetsu no Yaiba.

Developed by Cyberconnect2

Demon Slayer: Hinokami Keppuutan will be developed by CyberConnect 2. The studio is known for its many adaptations of anime on consoles. If his latest production is Dragon Ball Z Kakarot, he is also at the origin of the Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm saga as well as the recent adaptations of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure such as All Star Battle. CyberConnect 2 is the best in terms of adapting animated series.

An incredible success

Kimestu no Yaiba (Demon Slayer) is a worldwide phenomenon : the manga sells better than One Piece last year, the film (which serves as a sequel to the first season) is such a hit that it exceeds Spirited away at the Japanese box office. A success that should be transposed to video games.

An adaptation available on Xbox

Scheduled for release on all current consoles, Demon Slayer: Hinokami Keppuutan will therefore be released on Microsoft consoles. As a reminder, Demon Slayer is developed by CyberConnect 2 and published by Aniplex, animation studio known for Naruto, Bleach, FMA, GTO, or more recently Seven Deadly Sins… but not for Kimetsu no Yaiba. However, Aniplex is a studio owned by Sony. It would have been legitimate to think that the game would respect the affiliation with the parent company but it will not be the case, probably to maximize its marketing.

An arena fighting game?

According to Ken, the game will turn to arena combat, as the Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm saga did. It could include a story mode retracing the plot of the first season and integrate different protagonists such as the slayers but also different demons. It will be necessary to monitor the process used by CyberConnect to offer a complete list of characters, like the one he proposed for the first episode of Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm.
