American golfer Tiger Woods has undergone surgery on his back to solve a “microdiscectomy” and he intends to return as soon as possible to the competition, as reported Tuesday in a statement.
The 45-year-old Californian player underwent surgery “to relieve pain in the nerves in his back.” It is the fifth time that it has been operated since I began to suffer from these discomforts more than six years ago. In his last appearances he always regretted that his performance was not full due to back pain.
Thus, Woods will not compete in the Farmers Insurance Open and the Genesis Invitational, which are held next month. The American, champion of 15 ‘majors’, stressed his intention to return to the circuit as soon as he is fully recovered.
