Sean Penn called President Vladimir Putin’s war against Ukraine a “brutal mistake” in a message he shared on social media.
“It’s already a brutal mistake of lives lost and hearts broken, and if he doesn’t relent, I think Mr. Putin will have made the most horrible mistake for all of humanity,” the 61-year-old actor said. “President Zelensky and the Ukrainian people have stood as historical symbols of courage and principle.”
According to The Mirror, Penn flew to Ukraine’s capital Kiev this week and was seen sitting front and center at a government press conference just hours after the invasion while representing VICE for a documentary to be released. I was filming about the war.
“Ukraine is the spearhead for the democratic embrace of dreams. If we allow him to fight alone, our soul as America is lost, “said the actor.
The documentary, which has been in the works for a month and has focused on rising tensions in the region, is a VICE Studios and Endeavor Content production.
