The Mexican architect Hilda Marcela Cabrales Arzola, who was abandoned at the gates of a hospital in The Angels with a heroin overdose, she was disconnected from the machines that kept her alive and her organs were donated, the immigrant’s family reported.

Cabrales was 27 years old this Monday, November 29, the date her family chose to disconnect her from the devices that kept her alive.

The case of the Mexican woman and her friend Christy Giles drew the attention of the authorities of The Angels after the girls went out to party on the night of November 12 and they were only heard from again when they were dropped off in front of two different Los Angeles hospitals by hooded men.

Giles was pronounced dead at the hospital where she was abandoned, while Cabrales still had vital signs when she was found but doctors later declared her brain dead.

Luis Cabrales, father of the Mexican, told local media that a large quantity of heroin was found in the girl’s system, but she questioned whether her daughter used the drug voluntarily.

A large quantity of the drug was also found in Giles’ body.

According to the Police of The Angels, two hooded men driving a car without license plates dropped Giles at a hospital in Culver City, California County. The Angels, where she was pronounced dead.

Two hours later, Cabrales was left at another hospital in West Los Angeles, where she was finally disconnected on Monday.

Jan Cilliers, Giles’ husband, told KTLA television that the circumstances surrounding his wife’s death are suspicious as he maintains that his wife did not use heroin.

The two young women were at a party when they apparently met a man who invited them to another gathering in the Hollywood Hills, according to Cabrales’ father.

Homicide detectives with the West Office of the Los Angeles Police Department indicated that they are investigating any possible sexual assault or crime. They are also considering the possibility of voluntary use of the drug.

The Mexican had arrived in Los Angeles six months ago to work in a company as an architect. Her parents traveled from Monterrey, Mexico, after the incident.

Luis Cabrales said that the donation of his daughter’s organs will help more than nine people.
