Derek Chauvin, the ex-Minneapolis policeman convicted of murdering the African-American George Floyd, filed an appeal in Minnesota district court on Thursday, citing 14 complaints related to his trial.
In the resource, Chauvin who in June was sentenced to more than 22 years in prison for the murder of Floyd after kneeling on his neck for almost 10 minutes – he accuses the State, among other things, of not having ordered the isolation of the jurors during the trial.
The death of Floyd in May 2020, sparked huge demonstrations in the United States against racism and police brutality.
