It is a new function incorporated with the new Apple operating system: iOS 15
This was revealed by the company during the keynote inaugural of his WWDC21, an event where those from Cupertino usually advance some of their next novelties. Among them, this one.
Thanks to this new function, it is possible to locate and block the device that is linked to the aforementioned application, even after it has been deleted or turned off. This ensures that, in the event of theft, no one can buy it on the black market and use it.
As the brand has explained, once such an operation has been carried out, a message will appear on the screen that says that the terminal is locked and locatable, as well as that it continues to belong to its original owner. It is certainly trying to deter potential illegal buyers.
At the moment, iOS 15 is being tested in different scenarios and phases. However, its official arrival will take place next autumn at the following terminals:
