Putin discusses with the head of Saxony the supply of Sputnik V vaccines to Germany against the coronavirus

The Russian President, Vladimir Putin, addressed this Thursday in a telephone conversation with the Prime Minister of Saxony, Michael Kretschmer, the possible supply of the Russian vaccine Sputnik V a Germany before the interest of the German federal state to buy up to 30 million doses of the preparation.

At the same time, Kretschmer stressed that the condition for the acquisition is the authorization of the European Medicines Agency (EMA).

In early April, Bavarian Prime Minister Markus Söder also expressed the Land’s interest in purchasing the Sputnik V vaccine.

According to Söder, there has been a “pre-negotiation” with the Russian authorities to receive 2.5 million doses of the Russian vaccine once it receives the go-ahead from the EMA.

The Russian Direct Investment Fund (FIDR) announced in April that it had opened negotiations with Germany for the sale of doses of the Sputnik V vaccine.
