Anitta will pay tribute to Rio’s samba schools at Carnival 2024; see rehearsal details:
Anitta’s summer concerts begin on January 6, 2024 in Salvador (BA)
Anitta, 30, will pay homage to Rio de Janeiro’s samba schools at her Carnival 2024. The traditional Anitta Rehearsals will take place in 10 cities across Brazil starting in January.
“Next year’s Carnival will be paying homage to the samba schools, explaining a little about the culture we have, the parade, this competition, I think mainly for my audience abroad, who are always watching what I’m doing on social media,” she said at a press conference on Thursday (19).
The carioca also recalled the clip she recorded during the 2023 champions parade, wearing a costume lent to her by Sabrina Sato. “There’s the clip I shot, right, also for this album project. I recorded it on the street, dressed as a passista, at the parade. I want to give it a whole context on my networks. I’m going to pay homage to each one, at every rehearsal, at every show,” she says.
There will initially be 10 concerts starting on January 6, 2024. The first of them will be in Salvador, Bahia. “I’m super excited. I love rehearsals. I have fun, I’m on stage for hours and hours and hours. The schedule continues on 07/01, in Florianópolis; 13/01 in Brasília; 14/01 in Fortaleza; 20/01 in Recife; 21/01 in Rio de Janeiro; 27/01 in Belo Horizonte; 28/01 in Vitória; 03/02 in Curitiba and 4/02 in São Paulo. Sales start on October 25 at noon.
Anitta announced the first 10 shows, but stressed that she intends to pay homage to all the samba schools in Rio de Janeiro’s special group, of which there are 12. It is believed that, as in 2023, extra dates will be opened for cities like Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo, and complete the tributes to the schools and their drum queens.
