The first visual comparisons showing the differences between Counter-Strike: Global Offensive and Counter-Strike 2 have surfaced online.
The biggest event in the gaming industry yesterday was the official announcement of Counter-Strike 2, the online shooter that will replace Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. Some lucky users have already started testing the game. Valve placed no restrictions on sharing impressions and materials from the initial project release. Thanks to this the first videos with visual comparisons between CS2 there CS: RI started to appear.
CS2 – map comparison
In the first place The Ultimate Gamerz channel has prepared material that shows the visual improvements of the maps. Its architecture has not changed much, but the level of detail has increased considerably; moreover, Counter-Strike 2 offers much better lighting.
CS2 – weapon comparison
For its part, the Munancho Inc. channel published a video comparing the arsenal in the two games. This video is based on official docs released by Valve, so we’re waiting for someone to do something similar based on the gameplay recording from the trial version.
The trial version is currently quite modest in terms of content, and Valve will gradually expand it. At the moment it includes a free-to-play mode and deathmatch in Dust2.
Recall that Counter-Strike 2 will make its debut this summer. The game will come as a free update for Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. Valve promised that players would keep all of their CSGO gear after CS2’s debut, though all of those items will be visually updated at the same time.
