Controversy has surrounded Disney’s remake of The Little Mermaid, one of its most beloved feature films in company history, almost since we saw its first trailer. It all started, as many will remember, with the appearance of Ariel, and after the film’s official trailer premiered at the Oscars, fans took to the internet to voice their opinions on its contents.
Interestingly, it is Scuttle, the carefree seagull, the one that seems to annoy fans the most. According to a section of fans, Scuttle is nearly unrecognizable in the movie’s trailer, and the outrage on Twitter came in droves. Below you can read some of the shared opinions.
