The first world race for Destiny 2’s Root of Nightmare raid will take place on March 10 at 9am PST. This raid’s Contest mode will last for 48 hours, giving you plenty of time to earn the exclusive emblem and a chance to get some notable loot from the Bungie Store. Before you get ready for Contest Mode, Bungie shared a handful of weapons, gear, and mods you shouldn’t be using during this time. If you do, this gear will negatively impact your build. This guide covers all Root of Nightmare Disabled Weapons, Mods, and Gear in Destiny 2.
All World Premiere and Contest modes have disabled Root of Nightmare weapons, mods and gear in Destiny 2
Any gear listed by Bungie as disabled while racing World First and Contest Mode will not work as effectively. Not only will gear effects not work as intended, but the overall power of the item will be significantly lower, likely leaving you underpowered in an already difficult encounter.

- Reinforced Finisher (Armor Mod)

- Ascending hilum (hilum fragment)

- Citan Ramparts (Exotic Titan Gauntlets)
- Necrotic Grasp (Exotic Warlock Gauntlets)
Make sure everyone on your fire team understands to avoid these options for your builds. For some players, many may have to readjust their preferences, but that shouldn’t affect everyone too much. Bungie made these decisions to ensure that the first World Race is not too easy for players and is an exciting race for all participants.
