A phenomenon at the start of the year, Hogwarts Legacy continues to set new records around the world, and particularly in Europe, where it has already established itself as the game that started best after FIFA.
we can say it, Hogwarts Legacy is already establishing itself as a phenomenally successful game.. Even before its official launch, the title of Avalanche Software was already setting multiple records both on Twitch and on Steam, where the enthusiasm of the players was very present. This was confirmed after its release, when Warner announced that over 12 million copies have been sold in just two weeks. And it still continues today, since we now know that the match got off to an exceptional start in Europe.
Hogwarts Legacy breaks records in Europe
In fact, according to a report published by Games Industry, Hogwarts Legacy records the 6th best video game launch in Europe since the charts were created six years ago. And if it may seem anecdotal, it is important to specify that the top 5 is only made up of FIFA games which, as we know, continue to top the charts year after year. In other words, the Harry Potter RPG started better than giants like Call of Duty, Red Dead Redemption II, or even Elden Ring, which is quite an achievement.
Additionally, in just three weeks on the market, Hogwarts Legacy has already risen to fifth place in the best-selling games of the last twelve months, behind FIFA 23, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II, GTA V and Elden Ring. In short, as much to say that for its first RPG in the open world, Avalanche Software immediately entered the big leagues. And things are probably far from over since the PS4 and Xbox One versions are yet to come, although the latter has again been postponed for the study.
As a reminder, Hogwarts Legacy is now available on PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC. It will arrive on PS4 and Xbox One on May 5, then July 25 on Nintendo Switch.
