Developed by Insomniac Games Marvel Wolverine PS5 could feature veteran Wolverine voice actor Steve Blum, according to speculation. This fan theory stems from a video Blum posted on Instagram a while back.
Why Fans Think Wolverine PS5 Picks Steve Blum
Seen by TheGamer, TikToker Jack_Whiteman7 found a video that Blum posted on Instagram a few months ago using facial motion capture equipment. Calling the video a “throwback” to a project he did, Blum says he worked on a video game for which he signed a nondisclosure agreement and is therefore unable to speak. He also tagged fellow voice actor Roger Craig Smith.
While Blum’s casting makes the most sense for a Wolverine project (he recently voiced Wolverine in Marvel’s Midnight Suns), it’s very possible he’s referencing his work on Mortal Kombat 12.
Insomniac’s Wolverine is rumored to be aiming for a 2024 release window, while Mortal Kombat 12 is due out later this year, so it’s likely past the motion capture stage by now. Considering the video in question is a few months old and is called a “throwback”, indicating that it’s older than the Instagram post, it’s less likely that it’s Wolverine.
That being said, it’s very possible that Insomniac could cast Blum in the role, if they haven’t already.
