After the serious public order disturbances and irregular detentions in Caquetá, the authorities announced that the recently released police officers were now at home.
On the afternoon of Friday March 3, the peasants and natives who held the Emerald Energy oil company personnel and more than 70 police officersthey reached an agreement with the national order authorities to release all the people.
Thus, the police officers of the Dialogue and Law Enforcement Unit number 7, which are attached to the Metropolitan Police of Neiva, were released and transferred to their hometown.
The police released in San Vicente del Caguan are already at home. With white balloons and cheers, the men in uniform who went through hard times amid the illegal detentions were received.
“Uniformed officers from @PoliciaColombia, released today in Caquetá, reunited with their relatives and colleagues in Neiva, Huila. These brave men will continue to work for Colombians!”, announced the Ministry of Defense via its Twitter account .
It should be recalled that 73 National Police officers were detained. Of these, 70 returned to command in Neiva, two remained with their families in San Vicente del Caguan, and one was killed amid the clashes.
