This Friday, March 3, the Judge Juan Carlos Checkley Soria postpone the hearing pre-trial detention for 36 monthsfor Tuesday march sevenagainst the former president Pedro Castillo.
The measure was ordered at the request of the former president’s lawyer, Eduardo Pashas. Before the Supreme Court of Preparatory Investigation, this too insisted that the sessions be held in face to face. In this way, he assumes, the former president will consent to self-defense.
The lawyer argued that his client faces serious attributions from the Public ministerincluding the conduct of an alleged criminal organization, aggravated collusion and influence peddling.
Currently, Terrones Castle remain incarcerated in prison Barbadillo, located in the Ate district, with an 18-month preventive prison. This measure was issued on December 16 of last year, also by the Judge Checkley Soriabecause of Rebellion (rebellion, conspiracy and abuse of authority) incurred by the former head of Free Peru.
The investigation is carried out after the constitutional complaint presented by the National Prosecutor, Patricia Benavidesin October 2022.
