Capcom shared news Resident Evil 4 redoes the footage and, after getting a first look, seems to show how the experiences of Leon S. Kennedy and Ashley Graham will and will not change in this new version of the game. Taken from various moments in the game, it shows Leon exploring near the lake in Chapter 4, then venturing into Ramón Salazar’s castle and facing familiar foes accompanied by Ashley. While much of it features highly anticipated encounters and gameplay elements, there have also been a few changes to see how Resident Evil 4 The new version might adjust some encounters to expand them.
the parts of the Resident Evil 4 The new version I was able to witness showed Leon in Chapter 4, exploring near a lake. His early encounters with cattle showed how they can become more dangerous the more damage you inflict, due to the parasite being exposed. Leon is, as always, able to attack with his weapon or his knife to counter them. Targeting different parties can result in more tactical approaches, due to the possibility of taking advantage of their weapons or catching them off guard. It all looked quite familiar, though obviously more elaborate and detailed than in the original game. And, as always, you can mod your weapons to change their abilities to help in those encounters.
Exploring and battling Ganado wasn’t the only thing Leon did. Even at this early stage, additional activities were introduced. For example, Leon saw a request for a golden chicken egg. To complete it, you will need to sell one at the merchant. This would give Spinel. He didn’t expect to have a chance to fix his briefcase either. Although this is an aesthetic matter, it is also practical. For example, in the footage I’ve seen, choosing a black holster would cause a large increase in the drop rate of gun ammo. There was also a rare chicken charm that Leon could equip in the left, right, or middle charm slot. This would add 100% health recovery when eggs are involved. This basically added a little chicken keychain to the bottom.
From there, it was possible to see Leon surviving the castle while making sure Ashley stayed safe. The key is to stick together and keep her alive. Leon could use his traditional weapons, as usual, as well as work with the armaments of the castle, such as firing familiar red barrels to deal damage to a group. However, once you’re there, it’s possible to take advantage of things like cannons to use against them. Leon could signal Ashley to move closer or back with commands, to try to protect her from attacks. However, enemies will attack it, just like they did in the original game. But while the segment I saw mostly involved asking him to come closer or keep his distance, it also showed that, like in the original, Ashley can also help Leon get around by opening a door in the Resident Evil 4 Redo.
The footage also showed how some of Leon and Ashley’s encounters with familiar faces will play out. Resident Evil 4 Redo. They notably meet Ramon, a Garrador, and Jack Krauser. While the first two won’t be all that different, meeting Krauser marks a fresh take on the experience. That’s because it’s not just about dealing with QTE. The latest reveal involved a real boss fight with the two knives in what is essentially a duel as they discussed Operation Javier. Yes, QTEs appeared as part of that, but it seemed like there was more to it this time around.

with the last Resident Evil 4 remade gameplay footage, it looks like it’s about giving Leon and Ashley the same experiences and maybe some new opportunities. The meeting with Krauser seems to build on what’s come before, although there seem to be nods to QTE’s roots in the actions. Meanwhile, heading along the lake and surviving the castle also felt more familiar than not. It looks like a building experience.
He Resident Evil 4 The remake is coming to PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC on March 24, 2023. A VR mode is in development.
