Sony has announced that LeBron James will be behind a PlayStation 5 skin and a Dualsense controller. Both limited edition items will be sold as part of the new PlayStation Playmakers initiative. There is still no release window for items beyond “later in 2023”. There are also no fixed prices. However, a Dualsense controller normally costs $74.99-79.99 when it has more ornate designs. A console cover usually costs $54.99.
Is that how it works. The PlayStation 5 skin and Dualsense controller feature designs overseen by James. The cover and controller are emblazoned with the words “Nothing Free. All is won.” In the controller, you can see the words and phrases “chosen”, “build”, “elevate”, “empower” and “I promise” on the right side of the controller. There are also crowns and the PlayStation action button icons that appear all over the device.
This isn’t the only time James has found himself attached to a PlayStation property, as he’s also found himself in an advertisement for PS4 and PS5 games. He and his son, along with Ben Stiller and John Travolta and their sons, performed at a god of war ragnarok announcement.
