In order to strengthen the agricultural sector in our country, after in 2022 many farmers had problems in advancing their land due to the lack of support for the acquisition of urea, last Sunday it was announced that the Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF) will allocate more than 1,070 million soles.

The Minister of Economy and Finance has questioned a new initiative that aims to allow Peruvians to withdraw their pension funds again up to 19,800 soles (4UIT).
This is measured by financing the maintenance and improvement of irrigation infrastructure, as well as other actions allowing the rapid reactivation of the agricultural sector. This agreement, which is part of the new plan of the MEFwill provide support to this sector which has been affected by the pandemic, the international rise in input prices and the social protests of the past two months.

The exported value of blueberries would reach almost 1,400 million USD, 12% more than in the 2021-22 campaign (1,242 million USD), estimated the Economics Department of Scotiabank.

“These measures are having a rapid impact and will strengthen the competitiveness of the sector, which generates more jobs in Peru. In addition, actions will be promoted that will improve and make the use of water more efficient, and productive development tools will be promoted to generate an important change in the conditions of the sector,” the Minister explained.

The Ministry of Economy and Finance submitted, through the Sunat, a request to set aside the judgment, and through the Attorney General’s Office, a request to clarify the judgment.

According to Supreme Decree No. 024-2023-EFresources will be directed to finance the maintenance of irrigation infrastructure, the development of a portfolio of rapid investments for the rehabilitation of canals and lakes, and to ensure the financing of business plans and productive reconversion.
In addition, the standard includes resources for Fund for the Financial Inclusion of Small Agricultural Producers (FIFPPA), the issuance of binding environmental notices, the strengthening of safety and quality standards for the competitiveness of agricultural, forestry and wildlife activities in the Peruvian Amazon, as well as the establishment of mobile markets”From farm to pot”.
The resources that the MEF will transfer will be made in favor of the specifications of the Ministry of Agrarian Development and Irrigation (Midagria), the National Water Authority (ANA), National Agrarian Health Service (Senasa) and the National Forestry and Wildlife Service (Serfor), charged to the resources of the Contingency Reserve of the Ministry of Economy and Finance.
With these resources, the maintenance and cleaning of the irrigation infrastructure will be carried out, estimating the cleaning of 63,784 kilometers of canals and irrigation drains, among others, an activity that will require more than 3 million working days.
