After a ton of weeks of competition, the League of Legends EMEA Championship Winter Split is over. With the tournament final taking place last night, the match saw G2 Esports take on Mad Lions, and after a fairly dominant performance, G2 emerged victorious.
The match was a fairly one-sided event, which saw G2 defeat Mad Lions 3-0. This result confirmed G2 as the team to beat in the LEC, having also been the most dominant team in the regular division and group play leading up to the playoffs.
As for what this result means for G2 Esports, the team has now secured a spot in the Mid-Season Invitational Play-Ins, also raking in €40,000 to boot.
