Last year was full of great independent releases and one of them was Worship of the Lamb, a gem developed by Massive Monster and published by Devolver Digital that perfectly blends the action roguelite and life simulator genres. This week the following was announced actualization of the Cult of the Lamb, which will add content free in all versions of the game.
Cult of the Lamb was released on August 11 and is available on Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, PlayStation 5 and Steam, so you can play this indie gem on all modern platforms. The game hasn’t stopped receiving content since launch, but the next update is the biggest yet and is called Worship of the Lamb: Relics of the Ancient Faith.
Devolver Digital is currently offering Cult of the Lamb 25% off on Steam, its lowest price yet, so Massive Monster decided to give us a look at some of the content they are planning for the game’s next update. The Cult of the Lamb: Relics of the Old Faith update arrives with 4 new builds that we can build to improve our sect and save time with their activities.
The structures coming to Cult of the Lamb with its Relics of the Old Faith update are as follows: Kitchen, crypt, shared shelters and organized farms. In the kitchen, it will be possible to assign a disciple to become the sect’s cook, with the possibility of queuing up to 30 dishes; the Crypt allows us to store corpses and it is possible to improve it to increase the number we can store; The shared shelters are indestructible and offer beds for 3 adepts; while organized farms will serve to keep your crops organized.
Cult of the Lamb: Relics of the Old Faith update is coming free for all players and it is already confirmed that it will add more things in addition to the aforementioned 4 structures, as Massive Monster also mentioned new layers of depth for combat and replayability after completing the game.
For now, we just have to wait until Massive Monster and Devolver Digital are ready to announce the release date of Cult of the Lamb: Relics of the Old Gods, but luckily it has also been confirmed that we will receive a second major free update later in 2023.
In my Cult of the Lamb review I said it wasn’t perfect, but with the updates and fixes it’s received since release, it’s become an instant Massive Monster classic that will only get better with its subsequent expansions.
