Bandai Namco has released a statement regarding the Switch version of Tales of Symphonia Remastered, apologizing for the issues players are experiencing and confirming that a fix is being explored.

From a technical point of view, there are currently major problems. One such issue is the long load times between battles and exploring the world map, which are even longer than in the original game. The frame rate is also not always consistent and you can see a good amount of drops. There are also other technical issues.

In their statement regarding the Switch version of Tales of Symphonia Remastered, Bandai Namco stated the following (via lower chronicles):

“Apology and Information: Thank you for playing Tales of Symphonia Remastered for Nintendo Switch. We have confirmed that there are currently issues with this version of the game. We are currently investigating a solution.

We will give information about an update as soon as it is available through this account, so please wait for more information. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this has caused our customers.”

Tales of Symphonia Remastered is based on the PS2 version, but many expected it to be based on the GameCube version. On Nintendo’s old console, the RPG ran at 60 frames per second. The PS2 version is 30, so not all versions of the remaster go beyond that.

Either way, we’ll let you know when a patch for Tales of Symphonia Remastered is available.
