After months of rumors, the highly anticipated February 2023 PlayStation Game Status it finally happened yesterday, but it left fans pretty disappointed. When measuring reviews on various channels, the general consensus seems to be that the show was underwhelming to say the least.
PlayStation State of Play based on Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League
Sony devoted part of the event to Rocksteady’s Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, which is already receiving heavy criticism for its live-service elements and forced online play, even in single-player mode.
It certainly doesn’t help that the Suicide Squad showcase follows Marvel’s Avengers announcing the end of post-launch support. The live service game, which lasted 2.5 years, will be delisted in September after a lackluster launch and equally lackluster post-launch support.
“When the best announcement is for the next monthly PlayStation Plus games with Plus Extra/Premium games added, you know the show itself was boring,” said one Reddit user. “They finally beat the leaker for once with this surprise announcement of PS Plus games for March!” said another.
Negative comments aside, fans unanimously welcomed the announcement of Baldur’s Gate 3, calling it the highlight of the series.
All eyes are now on the “big” PlayStation showcase, which is supposed to take place around E3 2023.
