Moon Studios Creative Director Thomas Mahler spoke a bit about the plans for the Oh-yo The studio’s next game on Twitter today, revealing that it will take the form of a “top-down” ARPG with big aspirations.
In his post, Mahler explained that the game will serve as a “watershed moment” for the development team, hoping it can “revolutionize the ARPG genre” and stand alongside players like Diablo.
“Our next project will be decisive for Moon: either we will succeed in revolutionizing the ARPG genre, or we will slowly move away.”
Although it should be scary, I LOVE the challenge! Diablo, PoE, etc – we’ll pick you up, may the best win!”
The announcement of this game came in June 2020, when Moon Studios teamed up with publisher Private Division to create the new action RPG title. Microsoft is not involved this time, despite the publication Ori and the blind forest with Ori and the Will of the Wisps.
We haven’t seen any footage of this new project from Moon Studios yet, so it’s best not to expect a release date for a while. Still, based on the huge success of the Ori series, we’re expecting big things when it finally arrives.
