You will find different types of Trials of Merlin to complete while playing Hogwarts Legacy. These tests contain a variety of puzzles that you must solve. Some of these puzzles are similar, and one of the most common involves a large stone sphere. These large stone spheres are heavy to move and must travel to a specific location. Here’s what you need to know about solving the Stone Sphere Merlin Trials in Hogwarts Legacy.
How to Complete Any Stone Sphere Merlin Trial in Hogwarts Legacy
A large sphere will appear near the starting point when you start a Stone Sphere Merlin trial. The sphere will be difficult to move. You will need to use your Accio or Depulso spells to guide him or Wingardium Leviosa if you have that spell unlocked. Of the various movement spells, we found Accio to be one of the easiest, as you just need to place your character in a particular spot and the sphere will come towards them.

The purpose of this Merlin test is for the ball to roll down the hill or hit a specific spot, which looks like a stone bowl. You will be able to find the Stone Bowl as it should be near Merlin’s Trial and should look like the starting point of Merlin’s Trial. You will need to bring the sphere into this container and have it sit in the middle. The sphere should come to the center relatively quickly once inside the bowl due to the irregularities.

You’ll know you’ve completed the Stone Sphere Merlin Trial once several vines have wrapped around the location and trapped the ball. The completed Merlin Trial animated scene will also be above the starting location to indicate that you have completed it.
There might be obstacles in your way when trying to complete this test. You may need to move the ball around these obstacles to prevent it from moving forward, requiring you to use additional spells. Regardless of these obstacles, moving the stone sphere is your only goal. We recommend tracing the stone bowl to give you an idea of the path to follow before attempting to move the stone sphere.
