The municipality of Fontibón, west of the capital, was the scene of a serious accident on the morning of this Friday, February 17. Three vehicles collided and one of its occupants died instantly after the collision, which also generated traffic chaos at the entrance to Bogotá on 13th Street.

The facts occurred in the middle of the morning. The Ministry of Mobility reported that at 4:30 a.m. the cars crashed, specifically, on Centenario Avenue with Cali Avenue. For now, traffic authorities as well as the National Institute of Forensic Medicine and Forensic Sciences are present at the scene to lift the body of the victim who, according to official information, was a woman.
After the accident, one of the vehicles was completely destroyed and ended up at one end of the avenue above the divider, traffic police reported. In this, apparently, the mortal victim was mobilized.

The other vehicle involved was recently moved by an official tow truck while traffic cops carry out sketching and other criminal work.
Since the first hours, traffic jams have prevented mobility from operating normally, so drivers are recommended to take alternative routes since, in both directions, there is no passage because the area is cordoned off while the respective procedures are performed.

To prevent more people in the capital from getting stuck in traffic jams, traffic officers have made known the alternative routes they can take: if you were to cross the Centennial Avenue (13th Street) direction west-east it is suggested to go through the Carrera 123 north. For those driving east-west, authorities recommend taking Avenida Boyacá. In addition, they recommend that they leave in advance to avoid traffic jams and that they can arrive on time at their destinations.
